[A panorama of interchangeable and vacant spaces: apartments]

This project is an attempt to move away from the conception that a painting needs to be a single object; indeed, its premise lies in the construction of a grid out of a collection of smaller canvases. Its structure harks back to architecture in its intent to reproduce the shape of a building’s façade. In it, each painting becomes a metaphor for an apartment or, simply put, a window. The empty space between each piece sketches the architectural frame, while the paintings themselves form the various illusory, projected habitats within the apartment building. The underlying objective here is to present a portrait of my work that insists on my desire to try multiple paths towards establishing meaning, while dodging the limitations of any single approach.
